Hmmmm ok so it's an old one, strange I've not come across it before; it feels like the Rec.709 2.4 is a new 'default' that's resulting in bigger more obvious colour shifts. You'd think the process would be, in the case where there was no colour space assigned, to default to the working space of the project? Maybe they're expecting ProRes footage to mostly come from DSLRs?

Hi Nishu. After export, I import the new clip back into AE and in the project settings, when I click on the new clip there is some info that tells me what frame rate, duration and profile the clip is. Also if I go to 'Interpret Footage', in the colour tab, the assigned profile is shown. For format, I've tried ProRes4444, 4444XQ and 422HQ. When I render a sequence out of AE 17.1.1 using a project working space sRGB, and then import that sequence into the same project, AE assigns the Rec709 2.4 profile to it, resulting in a colour shift. I'm using ProRes 4444 as a render format. Any advice welcome, as it's resulted in some irritating issues that have been tedious to track down. More info: Windows 10, AE 17.1.1, NVidia TitanXp x2 + 1080Ti. I'm importing the sequence as a series of .exr files. Comp is set to 32bpc, colour management ON, working space sRGB, exporting using ProRes4444.

Hi, I'm having problems in AfterEffects CC2019 v16.13. There's a kit of UI elements I use, an AE project which I use as a library. There's around 1600 comps in there, mostly small looped UI elements - opening folders, icons that sort of thing. In AE CC2018 v15.1.2 I can open/import this file easily - takes around 10s - I browse the folders, take out the elements I need and delete the rest. In CC2019 v16.1.3 (Build 5) just opening the project takes 2minutes or more, often AE just stops responding during the opening process. Once I've got it to open, browsing the folders in the project panel is super-sluggish, taking 10s pauses between responding to each click. Comps won't play at all (they're very simple shape-layer animations), and trying to work in AE becomes impossible. So far I'm resorting to using 2018 when I need this kit, but ideally I'd be able to use 2019, as it becomes cumbersome jumping between versions. I'm using Windows10 on a decent spec PC (64Gb RAM, 2xTitan Xp cards). I've deleted the media cache, updated drivers, all the usual stuff. Hope there's an answer to this one. Cheers - Chris

I've done a fun little screen capture, is this the sort of thing that the rest of you are seeing? Here's the link: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/574262/dump/Indesign_2017_1.mp4 The UI locks up at about 20s, for over a minute, so it's not very interesting! The frenzied mouse movement is me trying to get the UI to wake up. I get a bit of interactivity back at 1:25, for about 15 seconds, then it locks up again. Needless to say I've downloaded the last working version (2015.1), this is working fine. Using Windows10, 64Gb RAM, dual titan-X (Pascal) graphics cards, 1Tb SSD, 4Tb HD, A3 wacom tablet.

I abandoned the 2017 version immediately, too broken to bother with. The initial CC2015 installation worked fine, but updating that to the CC 2015 v4 version or whatever it was called brought back the hangs and loooong pauses. I've tried trashing the library stuff, prefs but no dice. So I'm sticking with 2015 v1 for now.

Just run into this with a fresh install on a fast, high-spec Windows 10 machine. Moving simple boxes around the screen was freezing for up to 30s. Uninstalled and dropped down to 2015, which was snappy and responsive. Luckily there seems to be zero useful features added since then, other than something to do with arrow heads or whatever - so no damage done.

I'd like the option to have a transparent 'missing frames' display, rather than the multicoloured thing we have now. It could be a simple cross on the frame, or just the frame number that's missing. Would work like this: Reason is I often work to a an animatic/preview, replacing that with footage as it's rendered. Frames coming in from multiple sources aren't sequential, so there's often gaps. It means I'm continually soloing/unsoloing layers just to see the preview under the 'missing frame' screen. Thanks! C

Agree that the colour should be user-defined, or at least come with a couple of themes, so we have some control. The blue is too strong IMO, it affects the whole look of the window, including whatever footage is viewed. Also many of the asset icons in the project panel are monochrome - even the comps - with no options to change. It makes locating footage, image sequences and comps that much harder, I much prefer the old CC icons in the project list.
